Hi There! My name is NaKendra Kinard, and I’m the owner of GLOW Counseling and Consulting, LLC. My pronouns are She/Her and I reside in Columbia, SC. I received a Master of Science Degree in Psychology from University of Phoenix in 2011, and a Master of Social Work Degree in Social Work from Winthrop University in 2014.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC/S), Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), Licensed Addiction Counselor Supervisor (LAC/S), Licensed Independent Social Worker-Clinical Practice and Supervisor (LISW-CP), a Master Addictions Counselor (MAC) through NAADAC, and a Clinical Supervisor (CS) through APSC/IC &RC. I'm an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Certified Therapist and Consultant in Training. I'm also in the process of pursuing becoming a Registered Play Therapist with the association for play therapy through obtaining the required training and supervision hours.

I have experience in working in the field of substance use and mental health, with settings to include residential psychiatric treatment facilities, outpatient treatment settings, and school settings providing individual, group, and family therapy services through the usage of evidenced based practices. My evidenced-based treatment modalities of choice include but aren’t limited to Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Person-Centered Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Solution Focused Therapy. I have experience with adolescents, teens, young adults, and adults dealing with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, phase of life issues, and substance misuse.
